Lonely Saguaro Cactus
How do they survive?
This moonscape almost looks like the aftermath of a massive excavation. It is volcanic ash placed randomly in the maelstrom of earthly upheavals in the beginnings of time. 
In the midst of the barren dryness, a green plant defies the odds. 
Hot rocks, when cooled, will crack.
