Day 20 Transitions

Skull Rock

New Year's Day was a day of transition. Our family, except for Andrew, left early this morning. Andrew will be leaving on Monday. Our friends, Jim and Dawna arrived around 1 pm. We spent the morning getting things ready for them, laundering bedding, vacuuming, cleaning, re-arranging etc. When they arrived, we set out for a walk because they had been sitting in their car for the last 5 hours. We ended up at Starbucks and then Albertsons for more supplies. After the great dinner busylizzy made for us, Cornish Game Hens, we went for another long walk in the cold night air and then it was into the hot tub for the rest of the night. Jim and Dawna are not exactly long lost friends, but our friendship has been sporadic over the years since we first met them. We are really 'hitting it off' as we always do when we get together. This is going to be a fun two weeks.
One last thing in the day was to check on the kids to see if they got home OK. They had just arrived home when I rang their phone. All was well. I even spoke briefly with Liam (2 years old) who said with a question mark in his voice, "Grand dad? Palm pings?"
 I miss him already.

Our turn to pay? Then we can go have a picnic under the Mission Bridge. We'll buy the Quiznos.

Happy New Year to everyone! We've enjoyed clear skies and sunshine as well(probably a little bit chillier than you)..........but no hot tub and pool to come home too! Hope that it starts to warm up a bit for you!
Enjoy!
