The Die was Cast

As quickly as the mail plane could deliver its precious cargo, I got my answer. I didn't really think it would happen because she had to clear it with her dad and I was not sure about him yet. But he knew she was staying at the 'pastor's house' and I guess that clinched it because as soon as her classes were done in May, she would be on the plane. Her days of independent wealth had not yet arrived (in fact they still have not) so I sent her the money for the return ticket and anxiously awaited her arrival. The above picture is the actual flight she was on and I was very nervous as the plane taxied up the ramp. All the post flight checks had to be made and then the passengers were allowed to disembark. I had a sinking feeling that she might not be on the plane. She probably got cold feet at the last minute. Maybe she was late getting to the airport in Vancouver. And then she stepped out. My heart soared. I had visions of two lovers running toward each other and embracing, oblivious to those around them and free of any embarrassment as they held a long and sensuous embrace. There is a reason that this is just the stuff of dreams and Harlequin novels. Reality, is, well, different. No starry eyed gaze, no moist lips waiting to be kissed, no out stretched arms to hold the one she loved, but rather a pained look on her pretty face, crossed legs, and through clenched teeth uttered those unforgettable words. "Where is the washroom? QUICK!"

What a beautiful young woman you've chosen to share your life with :) I had to just laugh out loud at the last sentence, simply because I would have been desperate for the "wash room" as well, LOL.
