Relief From the Heat Wave

I felt a little more human on Friday after quite a few days of very warm weather. The heat bothered me more than usual because of where we were working. Our early morning start found the temperature in the mid twenties in the upstairs area of our customer's home, and as the day progressed, it only got warmer. The windows were open but the heat was radiating off the sloped roof below each window and the air coming in was like a blow drier on High setting. With the windows closed, we were choking from the paint fumes. It will now get better as the days are getting shorter and we will soon be moving to the mid level of the house. It will be at least a two month job before we are finished. By the time we get to the final stage of the project, the basement, we will likely be calling for heat to dry the paint. Had we organised the project, we would have started in the basement. As much as we would like to, we cannot control all aspects of our lives.
