Hollyhocks

Hollyhocks always remind me of my mother. When we lived in the prairies, she had these growing against the house and it was one of the few flowers, besides Gladiolas, that did really well in that location. They rarely grew more than five feet high. We have one on the south side of our house that, without exaggeration, is 12 feet high. Wish my mom could see it. She would be impressed.

Her favorite color is my favorite color too. I love the feeling this picture evokes.
