This shrub is known as a Flaming Sumac Tree, and the reason is apparent. At least the 'flaming' part is.
They are among the most brilliant of the fall foliage, but this year they are extraordinary. I think they turned very quickly because they are in very good condition even though the colour is a sign of decay.
They are the colour and shape of flames, but turned downward. I do not think that leaves could be more beautiful.
