Autumn Joy

There are many things that make Autumn my favourite time of the year. I have been walking in the early morning almost every day lately and almost always have my camera with me.

There is colour everywhere right now, but I don't think the amount and intensity is as good as in years past. These photos are of isolated patches of colour that I have found here and there in the last two days.

I have many more to share over the next few days.

It is a challenge getting the light just right, and trying to capture a unique perspective on Autumn colour.

I will have a few with dramatic skies, as they are common this time of year. I also took a few good photos at Cultus Lake and look forward to getting them ready for this blog.

It is also the time of year to be grateful. My farming cousins in Saskatchewan report that not only was the harvest weather perfect, the crops were more than bountiful. I suppose that Thanksgiving could have originated in the agricultural communities as the bounty of the harvest was always considered a gift from God. And indeed it is.

I happen to like the chill in the air, the playoff football games, the start of the hockey season, the dew on the grass and on the spider webs, and being able to go for a brisk walk without overheating.

And, of course, I am grateful for the beauty of Autumn, the bountiful life we lead, loving friends and family, health, and life itself.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!
